Leading hedge fund relies on HTL to design, implement and support real-time Disaster Recovery (DR) systems

Overview

Atlantis Investment Management was founded in 1994. It is an independent company, owned by the managers, clearly focused on investment management in the Asian region. Atlantis Investment Management is regulated by the Financial Services Authority. Atlantis has expertise in long only Asian equity investment management, and is therefore ideally placed to manage clients' assets in these specialised stock markets.

Atlantis opened its Tokyo office in 1996 and have since opened offices in Hong Kong, Mumbai and Seoul, giving them the regional presence necessary to generate superior returns for their clients.

Problem

Atlantis were looking for an new IT partner to support their existing infrastructure. When the time came to upgrade their systems their new IT partner needed to be competent and experienced in a wide range of technologies.

HTL have worked alongside Pontis for many years. Despite undergoing large amounts of charge during that period the network has run smoothly and as demand has increased so the systems have scaled.

Solution

Being a global business, Atlantis could not afford any downtime whatsoever. The disaster recovery site had to be available at a moments notice. HTL designed a system based around Double Take software that replicated all data in real time and would allow fail over in approximately 3 minutes from the live site to the disaster recovery site.
